Ruffy Team Doesn't Know When Switch 2 Will Release, Netto's Game Room Reaches Out

Recently Ruffy and the Riverside has caused some confusion on the release of the Switch 2. Their recent press release contained some confusing verbage which made it seem as if the Switch 2 would release on or before June 26th; however, that is not the case. The Ruffy team does not know when the console will release.

We here at Netto's Game Room reached out to one of our contacts at Pirate PR to see if they could clear up the confusion, and if the statement was actually simply referring to the Switch release date.

This is what they had to say:

We obviously can’t confirm a Switch 2 release date, in fact, we don’t know exactly when it will release either.

Ruffy and the Riverside will be playable on the Switch 2 on day one via the backwards compatibility however and efforts are made to have a dedicated Switch 2 build ASAP. (but Nintendo hasn’t communicated yet on how they would differentiate the two on the eShop)

So your “Will release on Switch June 26, and will be playable once the Switch 2 is released.” is the correct take for now.

So there you have it! The June 26th date was not in reference to the future Switch 2 release.  It took a little while to get a response, as the team is obviously busy, but we will be revising our previous article as well.

(Thanks for clearing that up for us Robby!)
