Dotemu and Guard Crush Games have teamed up and announced Absolum, a brand new RPG Beat 'em Up.
Dotemu has become well known in recent years for developing the hit arcade inspired Beat 'em Up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, while Guard Crush Games has made waves with titles such as Streets of Rage 4. The two have now come together to create a completely original IP.
When discussing the game and their collaboration with Guard Crush Games, Cyrille Imbert, CEO of Dotemu, had the following to say:
"Absolum is Dotemu's boldest creation yet, standing as our first original IP and a crucial new venture for the future of Dotemu. Absolum builds on knowledge gained from our previous beat ‘em up collaboration with Guard Crush Games and our publishing work on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, as well as a lifelong passion we share with Guard Crush Games for classic and modern beat 'em up titles. Our ultimate goal is to fundamentally evolve the genre’s potential in a way that’s unique from the traditional brawlers we’ve all come to love, and I knew the team was well suited to accomplish this from the first time I played Absolum."
Additionally, animation studio Supamonks (Rabbids Invasion: Mission to Mars) will be working on the game and has helped co-create the characters and universe, with a soundtrack being composed by Gareth Coker (Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Halo Infinite).
The game is set to release on, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC later in 2025.

Meet the outcast heroes of Talamh, each with their unique fighting style.
From the shadows of Yeldrim, Galandra emerges as an unstoppable force of nature. Her colossal sword strikes with deadly precision, combined with chilling, destructive necromantic powers. Her calm demeanor is a thin veil, barely concealing the furious anger brewing inside her.
Karl is the last free dwarf of Talamh. Armed with an ancestral blunderbuss and his bare fists, he’s a master of close-range brawls and explosive tactics. What he lacks in reach at mid-range, he makes up for with raw strength and quick thinking, making him a stalwart ally in the revolt against Azra's oppression.
During their ordeals, two mysterious heroes will join them on a quest to overthrow the Sun King: Brome, a wizard prodigy on a mission to preserve the future generations of his people, and the enigmatic Cider, a nimble skirmisher in search of answers among the scattered fragments of their own soul.
