The Advance Wars inspired turn based strategy game Earth vs Mars is coming to Steam in Summer of 2025, developer Relic Entertainment has announced.
The game is set in a world where Martians have been secretly visiting Earth to abduct animals and humans to harvest them for their "atomic essence." After many years of preparation, the Martians have returned in full force, and now Earth is forced to fight back using their new secret weapon.
Dubbed the "Splice-O-Torn" the device allows people to be combine with Earth creatures to create new types of hybrid super powered soldiers.
When discussing the game, CEO Justin Dowdeswell had the following to say:
"We are excited to bring a Relic Twist to the Advance Wars style of gameplay, infusing some Relic DNA, while harkening back to some of our earlier titles. Relic Entertainment recently announced a new strategy: Alongside continuing to work on the traditional RTS titles that we’re known for, we’re also going to work on smaller Indie style games in order to explore new sub-genres, experiment, get our creative juices going, and release games more frequently. Earth vs Mars is the first of this smaller Indie style game from Relic, published under the Relic Labs label."
