Pokemon Champions Announced for Nintendo Switch and Mobile

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have announced Pokemon Champions, a brand new Pokemon Battle focused game for Nintendo Switch and Mobile.

Developed by The Pokemon Works in collaboration with GAME FREAK, the game follows in the footsteps of the classic Pokemon Stadium series, where players choose a team of Pokemon and battle it out against friends or in single player modes against NPCs. Unlike Stadium however, Champions will feature online play, similar to Battle Revolution on the Wii, and will connect to Pokemon Home. This allows players to use their Pokemon captured and trained on past adventures, including Pokemon GO once the Pokemon are transferred. (Note: Transferred Pokemon cannot return to Pokemon GO.)

Champions will feature the same iconic gameplay the series is known for, and will have a variety of different modes for players to experience. The game is currently in development, with more information to be provided in the near future. A release date was not announced.
