OMEGA 6 The Triangle Stars Launches Today, Created By Nintendo Veteran Takaya Imamura

Clear River Games has announced OMEGA 6 The Triangle Stars is now available for PC and Nintendo Switch.

The game was created by Takaya Imamura, who previously worked for Nintendo on titles such as Star Fox, F-Zero, and The Legend of Zelda. Joining Imamura were developers Happymeal and Pleocene, with the game itself being based on Imamura's very own OMEGA 6 manga series.

OMEGA 6 The Triangle Stars is created by Nintendo veteran Takaya Imamura (Star Fox, F-Zero, The Legend of Zelda) alongside developers Happymeal and Pleocene, and is based upon Imamura’s sci-fi manga OMEGA 6, set in the far future where the Earth has become a very crowded place. Players follow the story of humanoid heroes Thunder and Kyla, who have been tasked with discovering a new planet for the human race to call home, as the Earth’s population crisis threatens its very existence.

Known for designing some of gaming’s most iconic characters over three decades at Nintendo, Imamura-san brings that playful eye for art and persona to OMEGA 6 The Triangle Stars, with over 100 eccentric and otherworldly characters to meet across three distinct planets. Players will be greeted with gorgeous 16-bit pixel art, and a soundtrack from fellow Nintendo alumnus Shinobu Amayake (Wario’s Woods, Stunt Race FX, Pokémon Ranger).

Mixing classic adventure-style gameplay with RPG mechanics and an interactive comic book style, OMEGA 6 The Triangle Stars offers action, humour, and intergalactic thrills today. Fans of manga wishing to experience OMEGA 6 in English are also in for a treat, with Dark Horse Comics® confirmed to be publishing the story in English for the first time later this year.

 

OMEGA 6 The Triangle Stars is out now for PC and Nintendo Switch, with a 40% digital launch discount available. A physical version of OMEGA 6 The Triangle Stars is also out now in Europe and shipping soon via Limited Run Games in North America, with a Deluxe Edition launching later this year, available to pre-order now.
