Developer Midgar Studio and publisher Nacon have announced Edge of Memories, an action RPG and successor to their turn based RPG Edge of Eternity.
The game will feature the singing voice of Emi Evans, known for her work in Nier Automata, and a soundtrack composed by Cédric Menendez; with Yasunori Mitsuda of Chrono Trigger and Xenoblade handling the game's main theme. Additionally, Nier writer Sawako Natori will be penning the game's story, with character designs by Raita Kazama (Xenoblade Chronicles X).
When discussing the game, Jérémy Zeler-Maury, CEO of Midgar Studio had this to say:
“We are thrilled to expand the world of the Edge of franchise with a new installment that takes on a fresh artistic direction and marks a turning point in gameplay, shifting from the strategic turn-based style of its predecessor in favor of a more dynamic and immersive Action RPG approach. As true JRPG enthusiasts, we have poured a lot of love into this project, and we can't wait to share it with both fans of the genre and newcomers alike.”
Edge of Memories is currently set for release in Fall 2025, and will be on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
