Among Us VR To Be Rebranded Among Us 3D, Will No Longer Require a VR Headset

Among Us VR, the VR exclusive version of the popular social game Among Us, is being rebranded as Among Us 3D, and will support cross play with standard PC users.

Similar to the original VR exclusive title, the game takes place from a first person point of view, and features voice chat, and a familiar interface for those playing without a VR headset. The game itself is still separated from the standard Among Us title, which is available on consoles, PC, and mobile, but retains the same general gameplay. Who is an alien? And who isn't?

"The launch of Among Us VR gave players the chance to step inside the game, bringing an entirely new level of suspense and hilarity to the social deduction experience,” said Victoria Tran, Community Director at Innersloth. “This crossplay feature strengthens our amazing community, making it easier than ever for players to team up—or backstab each other—regardless of their platform."

Additionally, a new currency will be added to the game called Stardust. Stardust will allow users to purchase items and customize their avatars even further.

Among Us 3D will be featured at Steam Next Fest, allowing players a sneak peak before the official launch.

Currently Among Us VR is available on SteamVr, PSVR2, Meta Quest, and PICO.
