Halo Infinite adds Halo 2 Delta Arena Mode in honor of 20th Anniversary

As a part of Halo 2's 20th Anniversary, Halo Infinite is receiving a new Delta Arena mode that aims to recreate the classic feel of Halo 2.

Along with faithful recreations of some of Halo 2's iconic maps, the mode will disable newer features such as sprint, increase jumping height, and modify other gameplay stats to mimic that of the original Halo 2. Of course there are aspects that couldn't be matched, the development team worked to get things as close as possible.

As explained by Evan Colons, Designer on Halo Infinite; “While utilizing custom game settings to recreate Halo 2’s movement is relatively easy, capturing that classic ‘feel’ was a bit harder to nail down. Considering all the subtle difference between Halo Infinite and Halo 2, a 1:1 recreation was never quite in the cards, but what we did come to was that of an amalgamation between the two, with settings that move like legacy Halo, but plays with elements of the modern sandbox.

The maps included in the Delta Arena are as follows:

  • Ascension
