Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition coming to Switch on March 20th


Nintendo has announced that an enhanced Switch version of Xenoblade Chronicles X will be releasing on March 20th of 2024!

Originally released in 2015 on the Nintendo Wii U, Xenoblade Chronicles X is the second Xenoblade title, and was the only game in the series not available on the Nintendo Switch. The game sees players creating their own characters and trying to survive on the mysterious planet Mira, with a heavy focus on exploration. The game also featured a 32 player multiplayer mode, where players could team up to take down their enemies.

The Definitive Edition will include new story content, updated visuals, and additional new features.

Choose from a huge variety of special attacks, skills, and classes in a combat system that’s as deep as you want it to be. Once you’ve proven yourself to BLADE, you’ll earn the right to pilot and personalize your very own Skell—a powerful machine that can fly, transform into a vehicle for fast overland travel, and wield immense strength in combat with customizable weapons and armor.

Gather resources and take on missions to build the community of New Los Angeles

As you go about the reconstruction effort, getting to know the people of New Los Angeles (NLA), you’ll build affinity with your party members and unlock quests for gear and other rewards. Join your choice of military organization within BLADE to take on even more missions—or even team up with up to 32 players from near and far online in Squad Tasks, Online Missions, and extra-challenging Global Nemesis Battles!


The Story:

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition features your character at the center of the action in a standalone sci-fi story. Customize your avatar’s looks and class to your liking and choose from a wide variety of options in a comprehensive battle system that’s as deep as you want it to be. Once you have proven yourself to the BLADE organization, you can also unlock a powerful Skell: Your giant, customizable mech that’s proficient in exploration and combat to assist you in your adventures across Mira.

While you go about the reconstruction effort, you’ll get to know the people of NLA, help them with their problems, and build affinity with your party members to unlock quests that contain rare gear and other rewards to earn. Plus, join an online squad* and take on multiplayer-specific missions, including extra-challenging Global Nemesis Battles! You can even recruit the avatars of other players to your team in the main story.
