Square-Enix has announced a partnership with the anime and manga database website Anime-Planet.
Founded in 2001, Anime-Planet has been a resource for Anime and Manga fans to keep track of their progress while watching and reading their favorite series, as well as a way to help discover new content to dig into. With this new partnership, Square-Enix will offer their manga series to users to be read for free.

Today, SQUARE ENIX and Anime-Planet, an online database for manga and anime, announced a cross-licensing partnership whereby manga chapters from popular series featured on Square Enix’s Manga UP! service will be available on Anime-Planet’s online reading portal for free. Consumers will be able to stream select chapters from a wide selection of fan favorite manga series such as Fullmetal Alchemist, Black Butler, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun, and more.
“We’re excited to give the Anime-Planet audience access to some of our most popular manga,” said Nobuhiko Muranaka, Director of Square Enix’s Global Publishing Division. “We hope audiences enjoy the characters and stories our creators have developed and look forward to entertaining them with our works.”
