Retro
Limited color palette, monochrome sprites, CRT monitor glow, and even text mode—the graphic style is inspired by ZX Spectrum, Commodore, Apple, MSX, Atari, and MS-DOS games in CGA and EGA modes.
Procedural Generation
Rooms and map for each mission are procedurally generated. Each playthrough is unique as the buildings vary greatly. The structure of buildings is also random. For example, the first floor might be located on different sides of a river or highway, and the connection will be on the upper floors. Or some parts of the building might be a narrow high-rise tower.
Mini-Games
The main objective of each mission is to play all the damaged arcade machines. More than 100 different short mini-games are launched on them. From platformers to legendary titles like Arkanoid, Xonix, Digger, and Snake.
To start an arcade, you need a token. Tokens can be obtained from cashiers for coins. Coins are loot.
Deck Building
For each completed arcade, you receive a reward in the form of two random cartridges. Cartridges enhance skills, provide weapons, and endow abilities. By combining cartridges in a deck, you can take down the toughest monsters. Combining two cartridges creates a higher-level cartridge.
The number of cartridges in the deck is determined by the detective's rank. You can complete each arcade without any hassle. Or you can collect all the stars and complete all the tasks—to earn much more experience. Experience allows you to increase the detective's rank and expand the deck size.
Neo-N Invulnerability Mode
Approach a computer terminal to switch to "Neo-N" mode for 15 seconds. In this mode, the player is invulnerable: you can quickly take out monsters around you. Hidden passages in walls also become visible.
