Fan translation group Atelier Traduction has announced that their English Translation for Ciel Nosurge is scheduled to be released in either October or November of this year.
Ciel Nosurge is a PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita prequel to the JRPG Ar Nosurge which was developed by Gust and originally released in the US back in 2014. The game is currently available on PlayStation Plus Premium, but players who start it up will quickly realize something; they are jumping into a preexisting story.
While the series as a whole is a prequel to the Ar Tonelico series on the PlayStation 2, Ar Nosurge picks up where Ciel Nosurge left off. For a series with such a deep background and lore, starting Ar Nosurge without it's prequel is simply a confusing mess. Sure, you can attempt to follow along with the game, but you will miss out on most of what is going on. (Especially considering Ciel Nosurge featured multiple world changing events, and has connections to our real world via the true main character.)
Thankfully back during it's release there was a fan translation summary available online, but it has since been taken down.
Thanks to Atelier Traduction however, fans will finally be able to experience the "offline" version of Ciel Nosurge for themselves. Of course the catch is that fans will need a modded Vita to apply such a patch to their game, and we cannot advice doing so. Modifying existing hardware is a violation of said console's use, and you can face consequences for doing so.
