PlayStation has announced that the upcoming PlayStation 4 & 5 console exclusive AWAKEN - Astral Blade will be releasing this October 22nd.
AWAKEN - Astral Blade is a part of Sony's "China Hero Project," and is a 2.5D action hack and slash set within a dark fairy tale inspired world. The game will also be coming to Steam, and currently has a demo available.

STORY
Bionic girl Tania is assigned by her creator, Dr. Herveus to search and rescue a missing Investigation Force in the rainforest of Horace Islands where mysterious Karpas energy turns local animals and plants into aggressive mutants called “anathemorphs”.
Weave your own story in this dark fairy tale. In the mysterious ancient ruins, you will embark on an adventure with Tania to reveal her origins and fate. Is there any chance of survival in this darkest and desperate place though?
AWESOME AND EXCITING COMBAT
Slain your foes with a wide range of combos: from fastest to slowest. Parry enemy attacks to gain an advantage, use Fast Stand Up ability to get back into the fight and dash into enemies while they’re attacking to slow the world around you and gain damage immunity. Combos and Skills will also help you to break through hordes of enemies and defeat bosses.
RICH PLOT AND VARIOUS ENDINGS
Control the course of the story, help Tania make choices at the crucial moments of the game and take your own path to reveal mysteries of the past and present. Different routes may lead you to different endings. Search the Horace Islands for clues and information about mysterious and dangerous world of the AWAKEN - Astral Blade.
CUSTOMIZE AND UPGRADE
Collect mysterious Aether and use it for your own benefits. Enhance Tania’s combat abilities and strength, or spend it on different skills useful in various situations. What about upgrading your weapons or trading some Aether for useful items? The choice is yours.
A NEW AND INTERESTING WAY TO PLAY
Don't waste your time on travel. The map is designed to save you time while exploring it. Should you have troubles in combat, you can lower the difficulty level and get some useful buffs. Tania always finds cheerful words for you even in your darkest hours. Because this is not only her story, but yours as well.
