Pearl Abyss has released Gamescom information about their upcoming Black Desert spinoff "Crimson Desert."

Crimson Desert is a stand alone single player game set within the Black Desert universe, and will have a playable demo at Gamescom 2024

Here's what the company had to say:

This year’s Crimson Desert demo highlights intense action-combat mechanics, featuring Kliff as the player character. The demo begins on the fierce battlefields with the Greymane mercenaries, where players will become familiar with the basics of attacking, blocking, dodging, and special skills while facing hordes of enemies. Seamless cutscenes between battles offer a glimpse into the story of Kliff and his fellow mercenaries.

Afterward, players are transported to a mysterious area where they can choose from four unique bosses. Boss battles take place in various detailed terrain within the vast world of Crimson Desert, including snowy mountaintops and open grassy fields, each meticulously crafted to enhance realism.

Players can expect intense combat against these four distinctive bosses, each featuring different designs, attack patterns, speeds, and mechanics. Analyzing each boss’s combat style and devising custom strategies to defeat them will provide a fresh challenge with every encounter.

Players can combine various elements such as Kliff’s one-handed sword and shield, bow, and various skills to create combos and experience gripping gameplay. A unique feature of Crimson Desert is that players can lead battles by creating their own unique combat playstyle.

All demo participants will receive exclusive Crimson Desert merchandise. Additionally, those who complete a survey will have the chance to win prizes through a raffle such as high-end graphics cards.

Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game that tells the story of mercenaries fighting for survival on the vast continent of Pywel. Developed using Pearl Abyss’ next-generation game engine, the BlackSpace Engine, the game delivers lifelike graphics, huge vistas, distinct creature designs, and more.

The game is set to release on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as on PC.
