Monolith Soft's classic RPG series "Baten Kaitos" is now officially on PC! Originally released as a Nintendo GameCube exclusive series; Baten Kaitos and Baten Kaitos II made their way to the Nintendo Switch in 2023 as an HD Remastered Collection, featuring quality of life upgrades, updated backgrounds, UI, textures, and more. The PC version is based off of the same Switch remaster, and includes all of the upgrades made for the HD version. This, however, also means that the game contains Japanese audio only, as the English dub was removed for this rerelease.
As for Monolith Soft themselves, they are most well known for being the developers behind games like Xenogears (while with Square-Enix), Xenosaga, Xenoblade, as well as the crossover series of Namco X Capcom, Super Robot Wars OG: Endless Frontier (and it's sequel), and later Project X Zone 1 & 2. Baten Kaitos was a unique turn based RPG created using their signature storytelling style, while also blending card game like mechanics into the combat.
Those who buy the game during it's first month of release will also receive the "Month 1 Edition" of the game, which includes a Digital Artbook.

A magnus' contents can be released at any time, returning the magna essence sealed inside to its original form.These magnus form the basis of the Baten Kaitos battle system.
Battles run in real time, so you'll need to employ quick thinking to select the right magnus for the situation.
Strategize against enemies of various elements using elemental magnus of your own,
and experiment with mixing and matching different magnus to discover and unlock powerful combo attacks!
• Vivid Graphics Remastered in HDThe two titles have been fully remastered in HD, including retouched battle backgrounds, character graphics, and UI.
