If you missed out on last year's release of Naughty Dog's "The Last of Us," then now is your chance. Today is the day The Last of Us Remastered launches for the PlayStation 4. While it is still in fact the very same game we received back in June of 2013, this time around there are a few extras which may warrant a re-purchase.
The major difference between the PS4 version of The Last of Us, and the PS3 version is its graphics. Thanks to the power of the PS4, the game has received some major graphical updates, with higher res textures, and improved lighting effects--all running in 1080p. While it is still very clear it was a PS3 game at some point (sadly some of the models look a bit iffy), it doesn't change the fact that the game does look amazing. On top of that, all of the DLC released on the PS3 has been included free of charge, and a special camera mode has been added to the main game; which allows you to freeze the action and take pictures whenever you want. As another added bonus, the game now also features director commentary, which gives fans a bit more of an inside look at the action.
Although this game isn't anything new, it is still a very much welcomed addition to the PlayStation 4 library. Thanks to this re-release, long time fans can continue playing the game on 8th generation consoles, and those who missed out on it on the PS3 will finally have their chance at it as well. It really is a great game, and well worth checking out.
